Marike Fowler has been working as a junior researcher since her graduation. In 2016 she completed the study Applied Psychology at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. She then followed the master Population Studies at the Rijkskuniversiteit Groningen to gain more experience in conducting research. After completing her master she started at the professorship. Since then she has been working on the projects Samen Besparen, Op naar beter, Nul op de meter and BedrijfKracht.
At Samen Besparen, Marike has worked as an energy coach to influence the behaviour of residents by giving energy-saving advice. In the project ‘Op naar beter, Nul op de meter’ she is working, together with a research team, on creating an overview of all studies that have been carried out on the experiences with the renovation of old homes to zero energy homes in the Netherlands. At BedrijfKracht, she conducts research into the effects of all actions that are carried out at various companies within the project. Marike is interested in social issues and in the combination of research and policy, which she hopes to develop further in the coming years.
